Welcome to the team Simon Freeman, Head of Industrial and Technology

Quantum Group Solutions is delighted to welcome Simon Freeman to our growing team in the role of Head of Industrial and Technology.

Simon joins Quantum with over 15 years of experience in Engineering and Technology recruitment, specialising in Aerospace, Automation, Software, Building Management Systems, Facilities, Fire and Security, Oil and Gas, Energy, Sustainability, and Environmental and general engineering.

We sat down with Simon to talk about his new role at Quantum Group.

Welcome to Quantum, Simon! Can you tell us about your new role?

I’m excited to join Quantum as the Head of Industrial and Technology. My initial focus is going to be on developing Quantum’s portfolio of environmental and sustainability roles, such as smart energy, technology-based engineering, and sustainability in manufacturing. I’m really looking forward to growing that side of the business and putting my stamp on it.

What attracted you to this role?

The opportunity to build and run a new division within Quantum while also developing my own Retained Search skills.

What is your career highlight to date?

My whole career has been a highlight. I’ve had ongoing success by building solid working relationships with my clients and candidates. My ultimate goal is to ensure that they always feel that they are receiving transparent, quality service throughout an assignment. Success is having a client or candidate return to me when they’re in need of assistance again, because it means that they trust my expertise.

Do you have any placements of which you’re particularly proud?

The satisfaction of doing a good job and finding the right candidate for the right role never goes away, but there is one that stands out above the rest.

The company I was working for at the time was very interested in working with a certain organisation, and I managed to get a trial assignment with them by establishing rapport based on mutual interest. It was an incredibly hard-to-fill role that they had been working on for some time with no success, and they decided that if I could fill that role then they would give us a chance. Six weeks later they had a new hire, and I had a new contract that would come to be one of our key clients.
