Quantum Group Solutions is delighted to welcome Jennifer Todd to our growing team in the role of Head of Marketing.

Jennifer joins Quantum off the back of an 11-year career in Marketing that started in Johannesburg, South Africa, as an intern for Marcus Brewster Publicity. She continued to develop her career through junior marketing roles in the South African steel, travel, and luxury goods industries before moving to the UK in 2017. There, she honed her digital marketing skills with University of Warwick for 5 years before joining the team at Quantum.

We sat down with Jennifer to talk about her first few weeks at Quantum Solutions.

Welcome, Jennifer!

Thank you so much! I’m delighted to be here and really excited about what we have planned for Quantum!

Can you tell us a little bit about your role?

As Head of Marketing, I will be responsible for the entire marketing function for Quantum Group. My focus for the next few months will be on defining marketing strategies for each of the business functions based on specified goals and implementing tactical plans to achieve those goals. I’ll be looking at everything from content and websites to data and reporting.

What attracted you to this role at Quantum?

At the beginning of 2021, I decided I wanted a career break. The pandemic had definitely taken its toll, and I was stressed, tired and feeling a bit demotivated after nearly 2 years of permanently working from home. I enjoy working with people and really struggled with the isolation. A few days into my career break, I came across the role at Quantum. My first impression (which came from the job ad) was that this is an organisation that puts its people first, and the role itself sounded interesting, with a lot of scope to get strategic and get creative (my two favourite things about Marketing).

Meeting with Omar, Tony and Pauline supported my first impressions of the organisation. I guess it makes sense that they would have their team’s best interest at heart – they’re in recruitment, so they know the ins and outs of what makes a successful team. I was incredibly excited by the prospect of working for this organisation with their fantastic approach to growth, development, opportunity, and people.

I was excited enough to give up my career break, and so far, I don’t regret it at all (although I do miss my dog when I’m in the office).

So, a few weeks in, is there anything you particularly like about working at Quantum?

There are a number of things, but I’ll give you my top three.

First, the team is so lovely! They’ve been friendly and welcoming, and you can tell how much they all care about our clients and how we serve them.

Secondly, the learning opportunities. The team here is so passionate about recruitment and one of the directors is a business coach and mentor within the recruitment industry. The guidance that I get from them is invaluable.

Thirdly, I really enjoy the dynamic nature of my job and the sense of purpose that I feel from being back in recruitment. I have a part to play in every story that ends with “I got the job!” And that’s a really nice place to be.

Let’s chat a bit about the work. What are you working on right now?

I’ve done a number of different things today, but my focus has been on researching the trends in the recruitment industry. In my role, it’s critical that I know what is going on in the recruitment space as it forms a basis for understanding both the organisation and what our audience needs from us, so I’ve been setting up trends tracking and thinking about what direction our marketing strategy needs to take.

We’re also working on some new designs and fresh content for our website and social media, so you might see some changes happening on our platforms in the coming weeks…

Can you give us a sneak peak into what you’re planning?

Yes, of course! Quantum is going through rapid growth at the moment, and I’m here to support that growth. At our core, Quantum is here to find the right candidates for our clients’ senior leadership roles, so the work that I’m doing will always be in support of that goal.

Finding and securing top talent is what Quantum is all about, but the market is extremely competitive right now – candidates hold an immense amount of power in the wake of the Great Resignation. Part of my role is to provide our clients with insights and information that will enable them to remain competitive and secure the right talent, so that’s where I’m starting.

Welcome to the team, Jennifer. We can’t wait to see how you get on!
